RICHARD T. SLAYDON

Richard Travis Slaydon was a loving son, brother, husband, father and pawpaw. He was born in DeRidder, LA but later moved to Bridge City, Texas where he graduated high school.

Richard was a talented athlete who had the privilege of playing football at the University of Texas from 1976-1980. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing then went on to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

Richard moved to the Rio Grande Valley and worked in Brownsville, TX for 32 years as a CRNA. Pediatric anesthesia became his biggest thrill. His passion and dedication for kids went beyond the hospital doors. He loved hunting and fishing but even more he loved introducing kids to the outdoors.

The Richard T. Slaydon Memorial Fund will strive to give children with illnesses and special needs a chance to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and life like he did.
